Learn more about Pod & Pip's flower workshops

Always been curious to learn more about floristry or would just love to try your hand at styling flowers? Our flower workshops are just perfect to give you the opportunity to switch off for the morning (or day), put the phone away and indulge yourself working with beautiful flowers. But what does a flower workshop entail and can I do it? Yes you can! Read on to find out more.

My ethos of running the flower workshops is for everyone to enjoy them, there is no pressure. Many people that come to the workshops describe it as therapeutic as they immerse themselves thinking about only the flowers, not work, or the huge looming 'to do list' or the next food shop. I only have small numbers at each workshop so that everyone can ask for help if needed or have the time to ask individual questions.

We start the morning with a cuppa whether its a cup of builders, coffee, or a herbal tea I have it covered. And of course we must have cake and it's only the best cake from @alixfauvel, whether its lemon and pistachio, rhubarb and ginger or sticky toffee we have the yummiest, most delicious cakes to set us on our way.

I start the workshop with a demonstration on what we will be making followed by a run through of the flowers we will be using. Then it's over to you, but don't worry I'm on handed if needed. Many of the ladies that come along say they are not creative, but I say 'we will see about that'. I completely believe it's all about having the time, the tools and a little bit of guidance to get creative. I love seeing ladies beaming faces as they realise they have made the most beautiful bouquet or wreath, it really is a wonderful confidence boost and accomplishment.

At the end of the workshop you take home your beautiful flowers and the knowledge and confidence on how to do your own. I really enjoy running the workshops as we have all achieved something and I meet the most wonderful ladies all with a lovely story to tell.

If you fancy coming along, our latest flower workshops and courses are on the website www.podandpip.co.uk and there are also gift vouchers available if you think it would make a lovely present for a friend or relative. If floristry is something you have always wanted to try do get in touch we would love to hear from you.
